Common mistakes to avoid

  • Using the ground area as the roof area. The flat footprint of a building is always smaller than its sloped roof. Skipping the pitch multiplier under-orders material on every pitched roof, and the error grows with the slope. A 6/12 roof needs about 12 percent more than the ground area, and a 12/12 roof needs about 41 percent more.
