  2. Take half the height: 0.5 x 175 = 87.5 cm.
  3. Divide the two: 14.32 / 87.5 = about 0.1637.
  4. Square that result: 0.1637 x 0.1637 = about 0.0268.
  5. Subtract from 1: 1 - 0.0268 = 0.9732.
  6. Take the square root: square root of 0.9732 = about 0.9865.
  7. Multiply by 365.5: 365.5 x 0.9865 = about 360.57.
  8. Subtract from 364.2: 364.2 - 360.57 = about 3.6.

So this person has a BRI of roughly 3.6, which sits in the lower-to-moderate part of the usual range. Change the waist to 110 cm while keeping the same height and the score climbs to about 6.5, showing how sensitive BRI is to the one measurement that matters most: your middle.
